Lesson 3:

The Promise of the Believers Authority in the Earth

Lesson Objective:To provide a brief introduction to the relationship of righteousness and the believers authority in the earth.

 1.   How righteousness creates authority for the believer

A.  What is Righteousness?
God had something in His heart concerning me. He said it out of His mouth. It became a reality in His world. I say out of my mouth and believe in my heart what God said concerning me, and it becomes a reality in my world.

B.  Righteousness is as established lifestyle based upon an internal transformation which creates outward manifestations that reflect His presence.

 Scripture References: Rom. 1:16-17 KJV

Rom 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Rom 1:17  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith.

2.   Authority was given to Adam Gen. 1:26-28

A.  Adam forfeits Authority through sin, giving satan control. Gen 2:15-17; 3:1-8.

B.  The world suffers when believers do not exercise authority. 2Cor 4:3-4

2Cor 4:3  But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

2Cor 4:4  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

C.  Jesus restores man’s right to exercise his authority. Rom 5:17

Rom 5:17  For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

3.   Jesus delegates authority to the believers

We have authority in both the spiritual and natural realms in all matters pertaining to God’s will for our lives.

A.  Man’s Authority covers 3 areas

a.   Satan: Luke 10:17-19

b.   Self: ICor. 9:27; Rom 8:1

c.   Situations: Mark 4:35-41

B.  Authority is released with the words of your mouth

a.   Jesus in the wilderness. Matt 4:1-11

b.   Jesus quiets the storm. Luke 8:22-25

Scripture References: Luke 10:17, ICor. 9:27, Rom 8:1, Mark 4:35-41, Matt 4:1-11, Luke 8:22-25 KJV

1Cor 9:27  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Mar 4:39  And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Mar 4:40  And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

Matt 4:11  Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Luke 8:22  Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

Luke 8:23  But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

Luke 8:24  And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.

Luke 8:25  And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
